Project Description
Component 2 of COVID-19 Health Emergency Response Project (C- HERP) is the rehabilitation and renovation of one building at Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital (MNTRH) to serve as a telepsychiatry call Centre. This is in line with the component’s objective of strengthening response and building capacity of key stakeholders including health workers and communities.
As such, the proposed project seeks to facilitate the integration of eHealth[ WHO defines eHealth as the cost-effective and secure use of information and communications technologies in support of health and health-related fields, including health-care services, health surveillance, health literature, and health education, knowledge and research.] in health systems and services, including in the deployment of telemedicine infrastructure, to improve access to, and quality and safety of care. This project is in line with the key strategic priority of the government including Kenya National eHealth Policy 2016-2030 and Vision 2030 development blueprint requiring the country to provide the highest attainable standard of healthcare.
